Slated Trilogy by Teri Terry

Updated: Feb 29

What would you do if your life had been wiped clean, if your memories where taken and you were given a whole new chance, with a new family and a device you can’t remove tracking your every emotion, your every move?

Teri Terry’s Slated trilogy forces us to ask these questions as she throws us into a futuristic Britain, and turns our worlds upside down in three incredible, impossible to put down novels.

Slated, Fractured and Shattered are beautifully written from beginning to end and will leave you wanting more and more of Terry’s unique writing style.

In Slated we are introduced to our main character, Kyla, just after her memory has been erased, and her personality wiped blank.

From the blurb;

'The government have slated her. They claim she was a terrorist, and that they are giving her a second chance, as long as she plays by their strict rules.

But echoes of the past whisper in Kyla’s mind. Someone is lying to her, and nothing is as it seems. But who can she trust to help her discover the truth in a world of strangers?'

Kyla is a strong character with a fantastic personality that we cannot resist. While we follow Kyla through this new world Terry uses her lack of memories to teach both her and the reader what they need to know.

But nothing is as it seems in these novels which unravel into a complex crime drama mystery that any reader will be desperate to get to the bottom of.

In Fractured the Kyla we were initially introduced to has changed drastically, and is facing a whole different world of political manoeuvring, and undercover operations.

All the while conflicting memories that Kyla shouldn’t have are coming to the surface and forcing her to realise that the life she thought she had and thought she knew may not be real.

It doesn’t take long for Kyla’s world to unravel completely dropping her into Shattered.

In this final novel Terry pushes readers over the edge with an engrossing, action packed thrill-ride which will leave many readers full of adrenaline.

In this oppressive future Britain the question we must ask ourselves is whether the leaders we trust are who we think they are.

A phenomenal series that no YA fan should miss.
